Elder Lamb has arrived in Honduras!

Zach arrived in Honduras on Aug. 5th.  When they arrived at the airport, their mission president had one of the office staff make a video of everyone coming that night.  It was an amazing video.  They really did a great job and when I figure out how to put it on the blog then you will be able to view it as well!

This is the AP's home in San Pedro Sula! Not too bad huh?  They have to have a spacious home to accommodate all of the missionaries that come in to the mission.  The Elders are packed in the night they arrive and then its transfers the next day.

This is the inside of the house.  Lots of beds wall to wall for the tired new missionaries to sleep!!!
Elder Lamb posing on the streets of El Progresso, Honduras!  This is his first area.  The homes look pretty nice to me..... ??? Love the colors!!!
This is a picture with his companion, Elder Zavata, he is from El Salvador.  Also pictured is a sister and her kids who are in the ward and she feeds them lunch every day!!! Yes! Every day!!! What a sacrifice!!!!
This is Zach's bedroom!  And yes, you can tell he took the picture!!! I don't think he is use to a real camera!! Not too shabby of a room!!!
This is his bathroom!  He better enjoy this bathroom because I have a feeling that it will only go downhill from here:)  Jk!  but not really!!! :) This is a great bathroom to have!!!
This is the backyard of his house!  This is where they do their laundry and ironing!  Its a real washer...in the backyard!  He is pretty happy about having this!

So today was Elder Lamb's first P-Day in Honduras and I waited and waited and waited for that email that I thought may never come.  I finally received an email at 3:30.  I was so excited!! He is doing great!  He gets up early and studies and then did his laundry and their are a few pics that I will post of what he did on his pday.
Zach's week has been filled with great experiences!  He gave his first blessing to a lady in his ward in spanish and he said it was such a great experience.  He is meeting so many interesting people too!  He is learning the language more and more.  He said that he has 2 baptisms scheduled for this Saturday and I am so excited for him.  This branch that he goes to has 60 members and is in a church building similar to ours in the states.  He loves the people!! What a great experience he is having and I love sharing it with all of his friends and family! Here are a few pictures from his P-Day from today!!
This is the home that fed them lunch today!  His companion is the one on the far left.
This is Elder Monterosso!  He is not his companion but is one of Zach's favorite Elders!  They get a long really well.
He loves this! They play pool on P-Day!! He was so excited about this!
We sure love Zach!  He is doing what the Lord has asked him to do! He is sacrificing 2 years of his life to preach the Gospel to the people of Honduras and we are so happy that he will be able to bring people unto Christ.  He is a great example to his siblings and we will be forever grateful for that! We miss him!

Update on Zach!

This is Zach in his dorm room at the MTC! He shares with 3 other Elders! He says its a blast!
This is the result of a towel fight that this poor Elder from his district suffered! props to Zach for learning so well from his mom!!!!! so proud!!!
One of the highlights of the MTC was seeing his cousin Austin!! He was so excited to finally find him.  He was kind of discouraged because it was dinner time and he hadnt been able to find him so he said that he said a little prayer and after dinner his companion, Elder Esplin, saw one of his friends in the hallway.  This friend just got there that day and just happened to be going to Belgium Netherlands and is learning Dutch just like Austin.  Well Zach asked him if he knew and Elder Elkins and he said that he was in his district!!! Zach was so excited and the friend took them to his cousins room.  It was 9:45 when this happened and he knocked on Austins door and said "Is there and Elder Elkins in here?"  Low and behold there was his cousin that he had been so excited to see!!! What a tender mercy!!! IHe says he sees him all the time now and that they live in the same building!!! I love it!  When Heavenly Father sees a need, he meets that need!!! Such a blessing!
Such a cute picture of him!!!
Elder Lamb with his childhood best friend from Arizona, Elder White!!! He is going to our friends mission in Argentina, President and Sister Heyman's mission!  This is so much fun that he gets to see so many of his friends!!!
This is Elder Lamb's district at the MTC.  What a sharp looking bunch of Elders!  They all look so happy!

First email

This is my first email to the family! I love it here in the mtc as you already know.  I am learning so much from the people i work with and especially my companion.  How is the family doing there? Tell seth and jake to keep up the good work in golf!....and dad too. I miss you guys a lot but i know that i have to be out here and my testimony is truly growing.  Our investigator rogelio martinez is coming a long to know for himself that the church is true as well.  The investigators in the mtc are members, but it is such a real scenario.   We asked him to pray for forgiveness after teaching him about the atonement(all in spanish by the way) and as he pray to our heavenly father for forgiveness of his mistakes and the ability to change, my heart was filled with gratitude for my savior and when we left the room my emotions rushed to my eyes and i was just overcome by the spirit.  I love it here mom.  The language is hard, but i am not here to learn the language, i am here to learn how to teach the gospel in the spanish language.  The lord has helped me accomplish this according to my faith and my efforts to be a better missionary.  This is the true gospel of jesus christ.  Tell everyone that i love them! i can only email and write letters on p days but i can read letters whenever so keep em coming!  The food here is really good but really bad at the same time!  If you know what i mean... but its all good! I love you and wish you all the best.  See you in two!!!
Love,
Elder Lamb

Update from the Elder!

Here are some letters that Elder Lamb has sent his parents. It sounds like he is doing very well. What a great young man he is!
June 27, 2013 letter.

July 1,2013 letter

We are so thankful for the work he is doing. So proud of how well he is grasping the Spanish language!

The drop off!

Elder Lamb was dropped off at the Provo MTC on June 26th. Mom, dad, Jake, Seth, Ellie, and grandma Covington dropped him off at 1:30pm. A chock full of emotions that day I tell you!
And there he goes!

The night before he got dropped off, he was set apart as an Elder. A very neat experience for the family to be a part of.
